I’m Zach Olechnowicz (#4), a running back at Ohio Northern University, studying mechanical engineering. Growing up in Akron, Ohio, I wrestled from first grade through my sophomore year and starred in football at Revere High School. There, I graduated with a 4.2 GPA, earned four varsity letters, and garnered All-Conference and All-District honors as a running back. My path hasn't been easy. I’ve continuously battled hip dysplasia, a painful condition that brought me to the brink of undergoing a Periacetabular Osteotomy (PAO)—an intense, highly invasive surgery requiring a grueling, months-long recovery. Facing the reality of that operation, I made the conscious, difficult decision to delay the surgery so I could fulfill my dream of playing college football.
