My name is Garrett, A friend introduced me to wheelchair fencing two and a half years ago. I was hooked in my first practice. In the past couple years I have been fortunate enough to travel and compete representing Team USA. With hard work and plenty of luck, I am the current all-weapon wheelchair fencing National Champion and the current Americas Champion in Epee. I am so excited to be representing Team USA at the Paris Paralympics this summer! I hold a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from UCLA and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Westminster College of Utah. I served eight years in the US Army, Utah Army National Guard, and California National Guard. After my own brush with death and subsequent amputation, I have shifted my career to focus on helping new amputees adjust to life with limb loss. Nothing compares to seeing someone take their first steps - again.
