Hello! My name is Simona Smith, and I am a college basketball athlete for Arizona Christian University going into my junior year. For my freshman and sophomore year of college, I was playing for two different juco schools in the NWAC conference. Going into the juco route was never something I would have seem myself go through since my dream was to be a d1 athlete but heading into the juco route, not only I have met some great people along the way, but I was also able to learn more about myself and fix my self-doubt, confidence and overall figure out why I play this sport. Playing basketball is something I enjoy playing but also enjoy coaching little girls the game of basketball. My dream is to teach girls the game of basketball and know that their talents aren't being over-looked. Growing up, I was always over-looked in all the sports I did but with dealing with all that, it builds my character to be stronger than I was a couple years ago. I give thanks to my family and Yahweh.
