About
Biography
Max is the definition of Maximum Grit. After losing most of his vision at age two due to a rare retinal disease and multiple retinal detachments. With limited vision in his right eye, Max turned to sport and quickly proved himself a driven and competitive athlete. He found his passion in Nordic skiing, where resilience and relentless work ethic propelled him toward his dream of competing on the world stage at the 2022 Beijing and 2026 Milan Winter Paralympics. This past year brought one of his toughest challenges yet—brain surgery to remove a tumor the size of tennis ball. This procedure forced him to relearn how to walk, talk, and regain movement on his right side. But Max never wavered. Day by day, he fought his way back, refusing to let a major setback define his path. Max remained focused on Milan 2026. His journey is a testament to Resilience, Determination and Maximum Grit. https://www.childrensmn.org/blog/max-chases-paralympics-dream-after-brain-cancer-diagnosis/
