Dylan McGowen's journey began with a premature birth and a life-threatening infection at just three days old. He became known as the "million dollar miracle" after antibiotics saved his life. As he grew, his family noticed he watched lips when spoken to. After an audiological exam, they discovered he had significant bilateral hearing loss and needed hearing aids. At age 5, Dylan embraced his hearing aids, reveling in the newfound sounds around him. His family's military life meant frequent moves, but Dylan proudly displayed his colorful hearing aids, becoming a beacon of individuality. Dylan graduated high school early, at the age of 15, with a GPA of 4.18. He was accepted to Oklahoma City University where he is pursuing his passion for rowing, becoming a coxswain with the support of his hearing aids. Dylan also suffers from epilepsy and is a Biology major hoping to become a neurologist.
