My name is Alexa and I’m a sophomore, pursuing an Advertising/Digital Marketing major at the University of Oklahoma! Originally from Greensboro, NC, my dream is to further my degree in jobs like professional sports team marketing/advertising. I am involved in OU FCA (fellowship of Christian athletes) and I believe it’s essential to have a faith-based foundation to endure the hardships of college athletics. My freshman year at OU I made the travel team and first varsity lineup NCAA boat. Another one of my passions is helping those in need. This summer I had the privilege of partaking in SOUL Mission in South Africa. Another passion of mine is awareness for mental health related to sport injuries. This summer I received bad news on an MRI, stating I had two bulging discs in my lower back. As a redshirt this year, the isolation from my team in some aspects takes a toll on my mental health. I want to make an impact on those in need and those who are struggling with sports mental health.
