Coming from a rough background, I use football as a way to pursue a better life for myself and to find a way to connect with others through the work of my testimony and encounters in life. Knowing that someone like me can get out the system and make it somewhere where many wouldn’t think was possible could be very encouraging to other young athletes going through similar struggles as I did. I believe strongly in mental health as I know firsthand how difficult it can be to maintain a healthy mindset or even more so to build one out of an unhealthy environment. I am pursuing my degree in engineering and I am specializing in both the mechanical and electrical fields as well as the biomedical field to develop new technologies to allow athletes to overcome their challenges to continue playing the sport they love. .
